The Big Three Oh!

Men are notoriously hard to buy for and generally to make cards for unless they have very specific hobbies. Our client needed a 30th birthday card at short notice for a friend of her partners. She doesn't know the birthday boy too well so we decided a simple but masculine approach should be the way forward. Here's what we came up with.

Another simple design, my favourite is the black metallic brads. They were something a bit different from the sparkles I like to add, a bit more manly.

We're currently working through our orders for Mother's Day. Be sure to get yours in quick, our last order date is the 8th March.

Retirement - Just Another Adventure

I was so excited about this order that I had to give it a blog all to itself! This is a Happy Retirement card for a recently completed order.

The client's friend is retiring from a high pressured sales job and setting off 'on his journey.' We don't know if that's in the literal sense and jetting off around the world or simply rediscovering life without work. I just had to share this.

Sneak Peek!!

Here's a little sneak peek at the place settings that our very own Kate has ordered for her wedding! Her tables were originally named after flowers and so we decided this simple, yet elegant design would be a lovely additional touch to the tables. I love the glitz that's added by the single diamante.

Kate wanted to do something extra special for her gorgeous flower girl, so we decided on a special place setting just for her. The butterfly fits in with the colour scheme and is something fun and different for little Morgan.

I'm hoping that Kate will allow me to use photographs from the day of her wedding to show you all the place settings and table plan in their rightful places.

Another Valentine Come & Gone

Well that's V-Day done and dusted for yet another year. As mentioned in a previous blog, I loved the design that the client and I came up with so much I just had to do it in different colours, so here's a look at one of the other colour options I've made up.

The last Valentine's order that we accepted was from a good friend of mine. She saw and loved the colours I used for the card shown above and demanded to have one made for her, no reason and for no one in particular. Her words were "I'll find a reason." That was a great compliment for me.

The next big day on the card calender is Mother's Day. This year it falls on the 14th March and our last order date for handmade cards will be Monday 8th March due to work commitments that week. Mum's are incredible people and don't they deserve a day of pampering with a card made especially for them?

Our latest enquiry is for Christening invitations and I'm hoping the client will be happy for a sneak peek to be posted here on the blog.

As always my little camera does not do this card justice, the backing card looks black but is in fact a marbled navy blue. I'm a big fan of simplicity and I loved this design so much that I asked the client if I could reproduce it in a number of colours as a General Occasion card. I thought it would be perfect for any time of the year to let someone know that you are thinking of them but especially for an anniversary. I'll get some photo's of the different colours on the website soon!

The Hallmark Holiday?

Well February has come round fast! Is it just me or is time moving far too quickly these days? I was once told that phrase is a sign of getting old, well sign me up to the old biddies sheet!

Valentine's Day is not something I generally celebrate. I'm a big believer in the fact that if you wish to be romantic and spontaneous you shouldn't pick the day where every other person in the country is choosing to be romantic and spontaneous. But then I took a better look at it... We do live in a cynical society where Hallmark seems to have taken over our day of romance, our day to give our loved ones a wee reminder that we are still competely besotted. So lets reclaim this day!! Let's give up on the Hallmark and go back to what matters, the thoughts that count.

Our latest order here at LTC was for some mini cards. The (single) client wished to give her good friends a card to thank them for their love that has got her through some difficult times in the last year because she loves them more than any man. She wanted a heart theme for most of them but in a more subtle manner than with VALENTINE across the front.

I love this card and not just because I'm a crazy cat lady. I just think it's very suitable for letting a friend know that you are by their side and you love them.

We kept to simple designs with the embellishments doing all of the 'talking.' I think that's best way with friends, let actions show your words.

Love and Catch Up!!

Ok I know, I know!! I've been completely AWOL! So firstly, a happy new year to you all! I won't bore you with the reasons for my absence but new year, new priorities, it's all go!

I've been busy making cards as a gift to my younger sister. Her partner of forever proposed and we are doing everything we can as a family to raise funds for the big day. My contribution is a massive selection of hand made cards to sell at the car boot sale she is attending. This has to be the best day of her life and I'm determined to help her get it! I'm very excited though as I've to start the invitation designs already and I have some stunning gold samples which I may sneak up on here at a later date.

Valentine's day is fast approaching and why not say I Love You with a special and personalised handmade card? Here's a wee sneak peek at one that I sent to a dear friend for her husband. Sarah and Rob were married on the 14th February and will celebrate their first wedding anniversary this year.

I just love the sparkling hearts and the simple wording, yes I do love romantic poems but sometimes it's just the simplest of words that need to be said for it to mean the most.

Kate's wedding is drawing ever closer and the big task at LTC this week is getting her place settings started. I'm sure she'll let me put a sneak peek up on the blog for you to see. It's such a cute design.

Little Jobs Take The Longest!!

Why is it that when you say to yourself, it'll just be a little job it becomes a mammoth task. Kate and I had decided that the Little Tiger Creations website needed a bit of a revamp. With the majority of our work focusing on bespoke cards at the moment we felt it needed it's own little section.

So the big task was started this morning and I'm very pleased to say that after many hours of work on this rainy Sunday, it is now completed and we hope that you find it much easier to use.

We've updated our testimonials page as we had some very kind words from our clients this week and it's always nice to share these on the site.

You may notice if you're looking through the old blogs that the photographs aren't showing, this is because in the big revamp we've renamed all the image files to make them easier to manage. I do hope to get them all updated to the correct ones so they show again but this will take time. Thank you for your patience.

Now...to some lovely gifts a lovely bride to be has ordered.

Arline's wedding colours are purple and silver and she loved the magnet we made up for Sarah that she asked for her very own in her wedding colours.

As always, I apologise for my dodgy camera as the magnet is really a deep purple rather than the odd blue that is shown here.

Tis The Season......Apparently

Since Jac showed a sneak preview of the cards she's been working on I thought it was only right to show off some of my work too!

There's something about this design I really like, it's simple and yet very pretty. Not bad for an idea that popped into my head eh?!

The traditional Christmas tree and presents theme just has to appear on at least one card doesn't it?!

Anyway, that's enough from me, must get on with some more card making!!

Christmas Is Coming (Far Too Quickly)

It is now only one pay day until Christmas! That is a terrifying thought considering I have not done any Christmas shopping. On the upside, we have been very busy with Christmas cards. Here is a sneak peek at what we have been working on.

Pink isn't your typical Christmas colour, but I absolutely love it teamed with green for that bright and fun festive look. Here's another one in the same colour scheme but with a touch of glitter.

When I said 'a touch' I think I meant glitter overload, but it's very Christmassy (is that even a word?)

A step away from the quickly approaching December dates. My younger sister got engaged last weekend so I thought I'd better make her a wee card! She's not even set a date yet but she's wanting invitation samples already, our most demanding client yet I feel! (I love it really!)

Who Stole The Weeks?

It's been almost three weeks since I last blogged!! So much has happened in the last three weeks that it feels like it's been 3 months. I'm pleased to say that it's been a productive three weeks (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I undertook an intensive driving course and passed my driving test. The rest of what I got upto will be explained at a later date!

As Kate has blogged, we are very pleased to welcome her to the LTC team. As soon as we get the website updated we will be able to show you what she's been up to lately.

Now for the photos! Alison from Plans & Presents has been working with a non-mainland bride which must bring some serious challenges. The design was chosen from our Standard Designs section but has been amended slightly. The Order of Service -

As always, the photographs aren't the best, I promise I'll take a class or buy a better camera soon. The ribbon is in fact a deep red. I just love how the place card has turned out. It just looks so elegant and expensive!

There are lots and lots of Christmas cards to show you which we'll hopefully be getting uploaded in the near future. I'm having great fun at the moment designing a 25th wedding anniversary card that I'll be able to show you in a couple of days.

I still haven't started my Christmas shopping! I certainly hope the rest of you are more organised than I am.

Bridal Madness!

Happy Friday!! That's another week gone, I can't believe how fast this year is disappearing. Another busy week for me but not all Little Tiger things. October is an incredibly busy month for me so I'll apologise now for my lack of blogging in advance.

I promised ages ago that I would show you the full version of a sneak peek as soon as the bride gave me the go ahead!! Well I have been given it! Kate from Guide to being a Scottish Bride wanted an incredibly simply design that incorporated the flowers that will be used in her day and the elegance that she is hoping her day will exude.

It's all about the weddings. Kat from K-Events asked me to make a card to give to her husband on the day of the wedding. She wanted a bright design (reflects her personality) with a photo from their engagement shoot.

Kat has recently had to change her venue so I will be spending most of this month remaking her invitations. Poor lass had so much trouble with the venue that it was easier to change everything than stay with them.

Well it's short but sweet so I'm off back to the old pen and paper to get a massive presentation finished and perfected. Wish me luck!

Christmas Is Just Around The Corner

Christmas is now only 2 paydays away for those of us who get paid monthly, which is rather a scary thought. I've been busy with personalised Christmas cards that I'll have to keep under wraps for now to keep the surprise a secret!

I've had some down time this week so I thought I would use it to make a few decoupage Forever Friends cards in the Christmas theme. There are 2 of each design available and as a special offer to my blog readers I'm selling them at £2.25 each.

A Gorgeous Venue For A Gorgeous Bride!

I was so excited to be a part of Amy's big day by providing her wedding table numbers, place settings and table plan. Her colours were gold and ivory, with roses as her flower of choice. If you have a look at some of my older blogs you will find many a reference to the process of making up her order.

As always things are incredibly hectic, I'm busy working on an order for the lovely Arline who gets married on my birthday next year. I'll try and post a wee sneak peek for you at some point over the weekend. Her colours are purple and silver which have been lovely to work with. I can't wait to share the finished items.

It's scary to think that it is October already and Christmas really is just around the corner. I've not even started thinking about my shopping yet, but some organised people have their orders for personalised cards in already! I really must pull my finger out.

It's All About The Kids!

Children can be the life and soul of any party but bored children can wreak havoc. I have great fun making up activity boxes for the kids to keep them out of mischief, I think I'm just a great big kid in disguise. Here's a little look at the one that I made for my nephew to keep him occupied during his sisters Christening.

It turns out that the creepy snail that pokes its tongue out when you squeeze it was the favourite toy of the day, little boys really are weird. He spent most of the day chasing the girls with it.

LTC are now offering activity boxes for any event or budget. Let us know the age of the child and a brief idea of what they like and we can cater the box to their likes and dislikes. Simply add cake and you have an amazing party box for a child's birthday party!

The Proud Godmother Strikes....

What an amazing day!! I am so proud of my little goddaughter, she was so well behaved, but I'm more proud of my little nephew. He was the perfect little boy throughout the whole ceremony and he played away with the activity box that I had made up for him. Everyone seemed to like the hall decor which felt amazing, I'd made a large pink chiffon board with the photos' displayed as though they were on a child's mobile. I forgot to get pictures of it though...can you believe it? I'm going to have to go on the hunt now to find someone that did.

Well now the madness of the Christening is out the way, I'd better show you some of the cards I have been working on.

When a man doesn't like football, golf, beer or anything along those lines it makes things much more difficult. But I don't think you can go wrong with blue or presents, so I went overboard with both! I mean, who doesn't like presents?

I can't wait to hear the feedback.

This next card is for the birth of a baby girl. The mommy knows that she is having a little girl but is struggling to decide on a name, the client being the Little Miss Organised that she is wants the card and present well in advance so here's what I came up with.

I just love the little buttons, you can't see it from the photograph but the coloured backing card is polka dots which is why I have used the dotty paper!

Hmmm after all those cards I think we need a wedding fix! The wonderful Kate from Guide To Being A Scottish Bride has been back in touch for some thank you cards for her best men (yup she's greedy and is having two) and ushers. She knew exactly what she wanted and exactly how she wanted it laid out, which made this one of the easiest cards I've ever had to make.

As always, I have to apologise for my lack of photography skills, the ribbon down the side is actually the Black Watch tartan ribbon which is a gorgeous tartan. It ties in nicely with the 'imposter' tartan that the kilt is made out.

This week is going to be a busy one with the most talked about game in Dumfries ever!! Then there is the gathering and distributing of the Christening photos. I'm hoping to make a lovely wee album for the proud mummy and daddy as a wee surprise so that'll be added to the to do list. Whatever you are getting upto this week, have a good one!

Everybody Needs Good Neighbours!

I'm absolutely devastated! After receiving some fantastic news that I will get to work at the most talked about football match in our town since the Scottish Cup Final...I saw the sign! Now I'm not talking about some big cloud finger coming down from the sky, no it's a lot worse than that. There is a 'For Sale' sign in my neighbours garden. I'm not particularly close to my neighbour but we look out for each other, look after each others houses when we're away on holiday, return lost dogs/cats, friendly chats over the fence, that sort of thing. Really in the grand scheme of things, I couldn't have asked for a better neighbour and now....now I'm left with the uncertainty of which poor soul is going to have to put up with my madness on a regular basis! I felt that I should do something to mark the occasion, short of holding onto his leg and screaming DON'T GO!

I tried to keep it quite manly by using the greens with the Forever Friends character making it cute and friendly!

This next card was a bit of a gamble. I was so worried about showing it to the client as she'd given me total freedom with the design. Her wedding colours incorporate a pale pink and flowers are also a big part of the day so I tried to keep these the main features.

The backing papers are all separated to allow the pink backing card to show through. The image is handstamped as is the greeting. Thankfully I can breathe again, the client and her husband to be both gave the thumbs up.

Another little Smirk fix -

I'm really big on saving all the little scraps and reusing them for different projects, this card is one of those projects. I just love the cheekiness of the Smirk characters and that they can be used for pretty much any occasion.

Well, we are now only days away from the Christening. I ordered the balloons for the tables today and I now just have to print off some photographs to use on the walls. I'm sooo excited! I can't wait to wear my lovely dress.

...when it comes! Arline has a fantastic blog called "Arline's Allsorts" which really is all about all sorts of things, from scrapping to weddings. She is hosting a challenge for birthday cards with the specifications 'pink and girly.' So here's what I came up with.

I had a lovely parcel of new papers arrive and I really wanted to do something with them, so rather than wait on an order I thought I would take up the challenge. This is the first challenge I've ever taken part in and it was really good fun. Please take a look at Arline's blog it's definitely worth a read with a cuppa in hand.

Oh my goodness!! I am so nervous. The big Christening is this Sunday and I'm so not finished yet! My usual printer is on holiday so I'm having to rely on one I've never used before which adds to the nerves.

Anyway...to Little Tiger things. I've been rather busy with bespoke single cards. So here's a wee peek.

The first one is the card which I made for my dad, I was running a bit behind on the to do list so I made him a nice simple card which I knew he would love.

My dad is all about simplicity and sensibility. He's not one for extravagance and gifts must be sensible and useful, so I thought this card would suit him perfectly.

As always, a little wedding fix. Kat's wedding colours are purple and her best man is a big fan of cars, so here's the design we came up with for his thank you card.

I just love the shiny, silver card that I used for the lettering. Maybe it's a girl thing but I just love all things shiny. Unfortunately you can't see the pearlescent backing card very well. it really does make me think of a well known chocolate brand....I wonder what chocolate I have hidden in the house!

Table Numbers - A Great Idea

I was having a nosey round the world wide web today whilst I had a few minutes to myself and I came across this absolutely stunning idea for a centrepiece but also for table numbers. I think it would be absolutely perfect for that vintage wedding. Very Pride & Prejudice don't you think?

I found it on OnceWed which is a site definitely worth a look. I may have to go a hunt round the charity shops to find some books and give it a try myself.

Smirk Away

I absolutely love the Smirk characters, they are just sooo cheeky and cute! I recently discovered that finally somewhere in my little hometown stocked some of these Smirk products and I had just the perfect project for them.

This is a birthday card for a 'tweenager,' not a teenager in years but definitely in attitude! The lass is a pink loving, sarcasm learning brat in the most loveable ways (well that's what I'm told anyway).

How cute is the muffin paper?!

This next card is for a mum who is more like a best friend. I really enjoyed making this card as I pretty much had free reign on the design and the butterfly gave me the idea of using the brown papers.

I wanted to keep it grown up by using the brown papers and burgundy ribbon and have the Smirk embellishments keep the fun, cute factor.

There seem to be lots of birthdays in September, I have quite the order list to be getting through. I've been experimenting with 'word cards' so watch this space and I'll let you see what I've managed to come up with. I thought my very own nana's birthday would be the ideal opportunity to get some practice in with these kind of cards. Can't wait to share the finished product with you all.

The Christening is now under 14 days away and I'm getting incredibly nervous about it, afterall this is the church floor that I got caught on when walking up the aisle on my wedding day - as long as I don't drop the baby or have my knickers tucked into my skirt I'm going to call it a success!

We're really excited at having been picked to participate.

Paper - The First Anniversary

Well Saturday 29th August marked the end of my first year as a Mrs! I was incredibly spoiled by my husband on the day with all sorts of 'paper' gifts completed by releasing two sky lanterns before midnight. He also treated me to an ENTIRE outfit for our nieces' Christening, that included shoes, handbag and jewellery. He had better be careful because I could sure get used to that sort of treatment.

I've been working ridiculous hours this month (night shifts galore on top of a 9-5) and I have fallen a little behind on where I wanted to be at this stage. But after a hard evening tied to my desk I have almost caught upon my to do list which is an amazing feeling.

So as always, here's a little peek at what I've been upto. This is a thank you card for a bridesmaid.

The bride has chosen a colour scheme of purple teamed with a butterfly theme so I wanted to include both of these in the design to tie it in completely with the big day. I've not added any wording at this stage as I felt the text would take away from the detail.

Now...this fairy-themed Christening. Well I've been thinking hard of ways to incorporate the theme into the decor and here's a look at what I've come up with for the balloon weights.

The little fairies are hot pink against a baby pink box. As always...please excuse my bad camera. The glittery wings are so much better in the flesh so to speak, the sparkle really draws attention to the detail of this little paper fairy.

Well it's September which means it's not long to go until the Christening day and well Christmas whilst we are discussing the 'Big Cs!' Better get my list drawn up of who I should be buying for this year but not right now, the midnight hour is upon us and my bed is calling me....

Fairies, Brides And The Usual Madness....

Well that's officially summer over, what a depressing thought!

Anyway onto brighter and cheerier things. Things at LTC have been busy behind the scenes with quotes and projects that can't be shown off....yet!

I've been incredibly busy with thank you cards for the wedding parties of my brides. I love personalised cards for these people, they are incredibly important in your big day and I think a special one off card shows that you recognise this fact. Plus it's great for the recipient to show off!

Here's one for the parents of the groom.

Now for a sneeky peak! This is a little look at the detail on a wedding invitation order that I managed to get finished last night. The brides' colour scheme includes pale pink and a variety of flowers. We have made the cherry blossom the main focus of the invitation as it includes the only colours. It is an incredibly simple design but it is gorgeous to look at. It will still be a couple of months before I can show you the finished product as the bride wants to keep them under wraps as a nice surprise for her guests.

The Christening seems to be taking up a lot of my time at the moment. The fairy theme is much harder than I originally thought, a lot of the fairy products out there pass over cute and head straight for scary, not the sort of thing you want when celebrating a gorgeous baby girl. I have some great ideas for it but we are trying to do it all on a tight budget which makes things so much harder. It's like planning my wedding all over again. I can't wait to share photo's of what I come up with. Ali from Plans and Presents published a blog which helped me with a few ideas, so a big thank you to her for that! Her blog is a good read, especially if you are a bride or groom to be!

Not long now until my first wedding anniversary and the bank holiday weekend. I might even treat myself to a day off....nah!

The Next Big Thing?

Kate from Scottish Brides' Guide asked us to contribute some articles to the blog, one of our most recent that she has published is on wedding logo's. You can read the original article here.

The wedding logo has been tipped as the 'next big thing' in stationery. These are simple designs which can be incorporated into all aspects of your day.

I thought I would give a little inspiration to those of you who are considering using a logo on your stationery. Remember these aren't just for weddings, logo's would also be fantastic for birthday parties and especially for Christenings.

Here's a lovely example of one for a romantic evening wedding -

I love the simplicity of this one with the silhouette couple with the midnight blue just accenting them nicely. Very romantic don't you think? A great idea for this one would be to have stickers made up and use them to seal your envelopes.

Every little girl dreams of the big fairytale party, whether it be for her birthday or for her wedding day, here's a great example of a logo which could be used for either occasion.

The simple black and white can be edited to incorporate the colours of the event, carrying on from my last blog I think it would a fantastic addition to the envelope of the invitation to hint at what the event is going to entail.

The Little Things!

I find that it's always the little things in life that mean the most, the littlest touches that are the nicest. So on that idea I started personalising envelopes with simple little designs. A wedding invitation order we completed didn't incorporate the butterflies which the bride has included elsewhere in her theme so I thought it would be nice to pull them in somehow. This is what I came up with for the corner of her envelopes so her guests know they are getting something special.

Here's a sneak peek at the little touch I added to a thank you cards' envelope. The card is quite feminine and all different shades of purple and I wanted to carry some of that onto the envelope.

Maybe it's just me but I find the mail such a depressing thing to sort with it being mainly bills (no one writes to me anymore what with all my email addresses) so it's wonderful to get an exciting envelope which hints at the special item that is hidden away inside.

Just When You Thought I Couldn't Get Any More Hyper...

After my rather excited blog, well I didn't think it could be possible but I think I may be even more excited. My sister and brother in law have asked me to be Godmother to their new baby daughter. I was so honoured to be asked...now to find an outfit suitable for a Godmother!

So with all my hyperness, instead of being a good bunny and going for a run like I should have... I powered through and made 40 Christening invites in one sitting so that the proud parents can start getting them delivered. Here's a little close up.

As always (it's not an excuse honest!) my camera isn't doing this justice. The backing card and little feet are actually a stunning pearlescent card in 'baby pink' and the ribbon has a fantastic sparkle through it.

Now you may remember I mentioned little thank you notes that I had designed for Kristine and Ritchie to give those that kindly gave Eva gifts. They decided that they definitely wanted a photograph included in the design so that they were something people would want to keep and display. Here's what we came up with -

Now as hard as it is for the parents to adjust to life with a new baby, it's harder for the sibling especially when they are as young as little Rocco. People are fantastic though and understood that a fuss has to be made over both children which meant Rocco got lots of presents too! So obviously he had to have little cards made up too :)

I just love that photo, he's such a wee cutie (am I biased?) We kept the same format as with a large family up to date photo's don't circulate as well as they should and it's nice to have one of each child.

I have lots of little projects on the go but none that I can share for fear of people seeing their surprises. I'm loving designing a few posters at the moment but it's never as easy as it seems, I'm really looking forward to being able to share some sneaky peeks at those.

Still waiting on the postman bringing me some ribbon so I can get started on the massive batch of wedding invitations!! Bad Royal Mail.

Bouncy! Bouncy! Bouncy!

You could say that I'm sat here doing a fantastic Tigger impression at 00:38 in the morning! I am so excited about my nieces' Christening and that my sister has asked me to do ALL the stationery and venue decor for the event. We have decided on a very cute invitation design which I will be able to share with you when the postman brings me some presents in the post...that's the only thing about the internet - having to rely on the Royal Mail service. I was that excited that I had the inserts designed and printed before she left my house!

It has been an incredibly busy night with lots being sent to the printers via email. Shame they don't work at crazy hours like I do, I can't wait to see these wee thank you cards!

Now the Disney reference - well here's a wee peek at the guest book that I have personalised for my gorgeous nieces' Christening as part of our gift to her.

I couldn't help myself and decorated the box too, I just wanted it to be absolutely extra special and well this way I don't need to wrap it up because it looks so pretty!

I absolutely adore the idea of a guest book at a Christening being used for writing messages which the child can then look back on at a later age. I would love to see who all attended my Christening, what their handwriting was like and generally their thoughts on the day. I wrote a promise in my oldest nephews' Christening book and it has turned into a little tradition for me, I promise them that I will be there for them no matter what, that I will always be their mad auntie and that they are pretty much stuck with me!

If anyone knows of any suitable poems for a Christening please leave a comment with the details. I would really love to add a nice verse into the inside of the guest book but with it being incredibly late at night my brain is seriously slowing down!

Pass It Forward: Reprise!

I recently wrote a blog for Scottish Brides' Guide called 'Pass it Forward' giving ideas on how you can include and raise funds for a charity which means something special to you. Whilst the blog was mainly focused around weddings, charity favours can apply to any and all events. They are becoming more common at Christenings where the baby has needed 'extra attention' and parents want to show their gratitude to the department/hospital/staff who helped. Whatever the occasion, whatever the charity, it's an amazing to do!

With things being fantastically busy with LTC it slipped my mind to post to our blog showing you some of the charitable favours that we have been creating. So here we go!

Our most popular charity favour so far has been this little gift tag designed to match in with the event colours. This is especially useful for those who are sticking to a tight budget as it doubles as a place setting, it lets your guests know where they are to be seated and what charity you have donated the money to.

Another popular style is a little card with a charity pin attached. The charity pin is a lovely reminder of your day but also something that your guest can carry with them and use to show their support for the charity.

This is another great option for personalising with your guests name to double as a place setting.

We have had a request for Christmas cards already, people you are putting me to shame - I haven't even thought about my shopping or cards list! The cards are to have a Burns and tartan theme so I'm really looking forward to seeing what designs I can come up with for them.

It's all about Christenings here at LTC this week, little Eva is being Christened mid September and it's my job to design the invitations and decorate the hall! I think we're going pink and sparkly with a fairy theme! I'm very excited about it all :)!

So Many Birthdays, So Little Time!!

This month seems to be all about the birthdays (including my own)! Orders for birthday cards have been coming in thick and fast so I thought I would share some of my favourites.

A very organised customer has put in an order for the birthday cards that she will need for the rest of the year. I can't show you them all for fear of ruining the surprise as the recipients quite often read our blog. So here's a wee peek at a birthday card for a Mickey-mad mother in law!

I tried to keep it all about Mickey and his wonderful bright colours. I added a little glitter as every girl needs a bit of sparkle on her birthday.

The next card I'll share with you is for a Guitar Hero loving man. Men are often so difficult to make cards for but this client is fantastic and always gives me a list of hobbies and colours for inspiration.

I had great fun making this one and trying to keep it as 'rock' as possible. I love the black gems through the middle...but maybe I am just easily pleased!

The day jobs have been getting in the way of my LTC time so I'm a little behind where I would like to be. I do have some time off this weekend so I'm hoping to get caught up and get some more standard designs made up. I also wish the postman would hurry up as I'm waiting on materials for another order of wedding invitations. I'm really excited about this next design, it incorporates Cherry Blossom flowers which I think are just incredibly pretty.

Away With The Fairies!

I really can't believe it is Friday again already! It's been a very fast week which has been lovely, afterall it's the weekend again and that's no bad thing.

This week has been very mixed with the little projects that are running here at LTC. So here's a peek at what we have been upto.

With little Eva's entrance into the world the family have been looking for personalised cards to give to the happy mummy and daddy. Here's the one that my lovely mum commissioned:

She wanted something reflecting their perfect 'gentlemans' family. The card itself is a hammered effect which really doesn't need much glamourising. You can't see it clearly in the photograph but the embossed heart has a green chalked effect adding some colour and further definition to the shape.

Something completely different now! We were asked to personalise the front page of a scrapbook for a lass who likes to keep newspaper cuttings about her brother in law (a local radio presenter and charity frontman). Her family wanted something that would keep them tidy but also something a little more special. Here's what we came up with:

With the black pages of the scrapbook, simplicity was always going to be best so we stuck to using bright colours and added a little bit of sparkle for that starry feeling.

Here's a birthday card for the same lass. The client asked for something that could be used as a door name plate once her birthday is passed. This is an idea that I absolutely love, there's nothing nicer than knowing a card will be on display for a long time, rather than to meet the bin in a few weeks time. Dana's favourite colours are purple, pink and green so we did our best to include them all in her card.

We've had a lot of orders for birthday cards these last few weeks which has been absolutely fantastic, it's nice to get the chance to make one off cards.

Back to weddings now though. An order has come in from a very organised little miss. The design process normally takes a few emails to get the details right, but this girl knew exactly what she wanted and in what colours. Here's a wee sneak peek at the first finished invitation:

Again with all my photo's, they just don't do the items justice. The invitation has a really elegant and luxurious feel to it. I really do adore this design.

We have had another mini article published in the Scottish Bride's Guide this week and have submitted another couple to Kate to see if she would like to use them. If you're getting married this is definitely a blog to follow, whether you're a Scottish Bride or not, it has some great ideas and tips that I'm sure will be of great use! Kate has some really big plans for SBG and I can't wait to see where it leads her to.

A Moments Rest

Well that's just wishful thinking! I've not had a chance to get caught up with this blog as I was on night shift (in addition to the day job I'd like to add) most of last week which knocked me for six. So here's a little catch up from what has been going on with LTC:

We completed the order for the bride with the gold and ivory colour scheme and it's all been posted out. All very exciting for us here at LTC. Here's a wee peek at the Order of Service.

The photograph really isn't the best, but the card is ivory with an ivory insert to ensure the brides colours were continued throughout. We kept it as simple as possible to maintain the elegance of her colour scheme the most important focus.

Now the cause of the delays, the table numbers. The gold had to be a match to the mountboard used for the table plan (I am that picky) which meant it had to come from a certain supplier who was rather relaxed shall we say!

In other news, my gorgeous niece came into the world. So little Eva is a younger sister to Rocco Jay, both are the most perfect gorgeous children ever, but I might be biased. Here's a wee look at the card that we gave to Eva's mummy and daddy. Eva's mum has asked us to design the Christening invitations and a little guest book for the occasion, I'm really looking forward to making those with a Disney theme.

So lots of this week shall be spent ooohing and aahing at the gorgeous wee lass, with the rest of it focused on a wedding invitation order. I've a few sneak peeks at some birthday cards for you, but I'll save them for later in the week.

I've been busy this last week writing mini-articles for the Scottish Brides' Guide. Kate from SBG has been asking Scottish companies to contribute to the blog. So far we've had two articles posted and hopefully we'll have a few more up soon. So keep watching.

Now For Something Completely Different...

We received an enquiry a few months ago about a DVD Presentation and would LTC be willing to draft one once their house was completed. They wanted a way to show all the hard work that had gone into building their guest house in a fun and different way. As I like to do, I thought I would show you a little sneak peek

This is a still of the menu screen, the photographs all interchange whilst the DVD is left on the screen allowing a preview of what is to come.

The client is collecting the draft copy tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to her reaction. As for the house - absolutely stunning and definitely wouldn't look out of place on a show such as 'Grand Designs.'

DVD Presentations are something we would be pleased to include in our catalogue. They are a fantastic way of thanking guests and wedding party members whilst showing off engagement shoot photographs on your big day. For a Christening, they can tell the story of the child's life so far in photographs. What about an anniversary present, photographs of the happy couple throughout their relationship? They really are incredibly versatile. If you are interested, please get in touch with your ideas and we will be happy to help.

A Serious Moment...

Cancer Research UK have launched their latest campaign with an advert that completely stopped me in my (incredibly busy) tracks and reduced me to tears. It shows children and adults alike in their fight against this disease, using their words to tell the big story!

My husband was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in 2007, he's now been clear since his final chemotherapy cycle in October of that year, so I'm sure you will understand how close to my heart I hold this charity and their work. I donate a monthly sum to the charity as it's the least I can do, afterall it is their research and hard work that lead to the treatments which my husband underwent to rid him of his cancer, to save his life. But this campaign has made me want to do more so every order received between now and the 27th July 2009, I will donate 20% of the profit to Cancer Research UK.

Dancing On The Tables

Well not quite, but I did consider it because I'm that happy. The big wedding order that I have been working on is almost completed with the first two out of the three batches being posted today. The only hold up is that some of the materials for the table numbers have been delayed at the suppliers end. That's not bad though, it's only been 13 days since the lass first got in touch and asked for some ideas.

So as promised here's the first look. I adore this bride to be's colour scheme, gold and ivory is just so classic and elegant.

We decided not to overdo it with the roses, so rather than having one at each table section we let the gold board be the statement with the roses and diamantes as accents to tie the other stationery items and the wedding themes in together.

The placecards were co-ordinated by using smaller versions of the roses and some diamantes for a bit of sparkle. The font used is Vivaldi, easy to read but looks like scripted hand writing which I think just fits with this classy scheme.

So they get posted today and I can begin on a large order of birthday cards that I have had come in. Part of my excitement is because of a wedding invitation order I have received, the lass has chosen a purple colour scheme and a gorgeous design that I can't wait to get started on, 9 months until her wedding and I may be more excited than she is!!

Tempus Fugit!

Another week gone by, my goodness where does it go? I've been working through Amy's order and dealing with some enquiries that had started to pile up but I wasn't well at the start of the week (big aaaws) so my plans to be ultra ahead of schedule have been foiled.

Here's a wee nosey at Kates' (Scottish Wedding Planning) guest book. A lovely wee idea, she wanted a guest book for her hens to write little messages in, a fantastic reminder of the night. I went with purple and black as these are the colours in her hen night invitations. Normally on these books I would do a big bow with the ribbon but Kate's not your typical bride and I wanted the design to reflect her personality as much as possible. The silver wire has a wee bead on the end and I liked how it added a 3D element to to it all.

Other projects - Well tonight is the night to get the finishing touches added to Amy's order. The Order of Services are completed and the table plan/place cards are all printed with the roses just to be glued down. I can't wait to share some photo's with you.

Busy Bees Have Nothing On Me!

I thought that this would be a quiet week with me almost getting caught up on orders. I was wrong and I couldn't be happier. I've just finished the order of services for one order with the inserts just to be stapled in once the bride has confirmed which song lyrics she would like to use. As always the sneak peek of the order of service will be put up here first. Watch this space.

Aside from table plans and order of services I had two gift card orders come in. The first for a wee girl who has that 'grown up' feeling and her birthday.

The photo doesn't do the colours of this card justice. Amy's favourite colours are purple and pink, with her bedroom being these colours also. So I've designed the card so that it can be framed or laminated and put up in her room or on her bedroom door :)! I've also hand stamped the envelope to brighten it up a bit and make it all a bit more special.

The second card is a Thank You card to a wedding guest who will be doing a reading at the ceremony. The bride and groom want to get her a present which will incorporate one of their wedding photo's so this card is more of an IOU. Inside it says 'A special gift for you is on its way, but you will have to wait until after our wedding day.'

The wedding colours include baby pink and takes place in Scotland so I used the Black Watch tartan ribbon to separate the contrasting colours. I like to include darker papers with a pink card as they sometimes feel too 'babyish' if that's even a word.

I'm hoping to have the first of the table plans finished by Sunday so I'll be getting the photographs up as soon after that as I can.

Here comes the thunder!

Sneak Peeks!

Well I thought I would let you have a sneaky peek at two of the orders I am working on at the moment.

The first is Kate's table plan (Scottish Wedding Planning). Her themes include pink and flowers so we came up with this extra cute design with a little bit of sparkle. Kate is rather organised as she is preparing her table plan before invitations have even been sent out. This is fantastic news for me as I am able to make up all the little flowers by hand, have all the backgrounds ready so that when Kate is able to provide me with the guest details it is just a case of printing them all out.

Little Tiger Creations are also designing Kate's place names for the table, a sneak peek will be available only on our blog.

Another wedding order, but this one has a little pressure added to it. With five weeks until the big day we have received the order for her Order of Services and Table Plan. All very exciting. The colours for Amy's wedding are gold and ivory, her flowers are roses, so we have come up with a design that ties them all in together. Here is a little sneak peek at the toppers for the Order of Services.

Amy and LTC have worked together to come up with a fabulous gold table plan. I can't wait to post photographs to show it off. Our deadline is in two weeks time so it won't be too long until we can post photo's of the finished articles.

It looks like the sunshine is over in our area and here was me hoping for a real summer.

Boys! Boys! Boys!

Men are notoriously hard to buy for, the same can be said when it comes to designing cards. Many men don't come under tools and car fanatics which limits the stamps that can be used. So for a manly man that doesn't own a tool box or drive a car, this is what I came up with using my wonderful new Cricut. I love the black scratches and marks on the backing paper taking the 'pretty' look away from it and making it that bit more masculine.

Current projects - At the moment we are designing a table plan for the lovely Kate of Scottish Wedding Planning and we hope to have some sneak preview photo's up soon. We are also currently dealing with an order for Order of Services and another table plan. Really excited about these designs as I love the colour scheme of Gold and Ivory that the bride has chosen.

All Things Technical

As the proud new owner of a Cricut Expressions machine I just had to have a play with it, and thankfully an order for an anniversary card came in from a friend who likes all things colourful.

The bride's outfits on the day were teal and purple so I thought I'd tie these in with a bit of pink for romance. Now the husband isn't the overly gushy type and so for wording we went with something practical and to the point.

I loved making this card, the Cricut makes things so much easier.

Righto, now off to make a 30th birthday card for a man - why are men so difficult to craft and shop for?

LTC Gone Mobile

Well Little Tiger Creations has gone mobile. I'm now the proud owner of a shiny Blackberry Curve meaning that I can receive and reply to your emails wherever I am. I'm hoping that this will help us maintain the high levels of customer service that we offer by dealing with your queries as fast as possible.

I've been busy the last few days with wine charm designs and I'm not-so-patiently awaiting the arrival of new charms and beads so that I can create some new designs for you to choose from.

That Oriental Feeling & Updates

We have added another online store to Little Tiger Creations! This shop will be for samples that we have designed and created that will not be used as standard designs for whatever reason and one off cards that we have made, well simply because we like making cards. This is a great opportunity to grab a little bargain, the best part - for a small additional cost we will personalise the chosen card to the occasion you require it for.

Oriental Feelings - This range is my favourite so far (do I say that every time?). I love the contrasting ribbons and patterns next to the black. We have a small stock supply of these cards left and they are available from our Bargain Store. The papers used to create the cards have been discontinued so get them whilst you can.

Getting Fluttery! - Little Tiger Creations have received an order for all things purple and fluttery. With a purple and butterflies theme for a wedding, the bride requires a variety of thank you cards, so watch this space for the designs that we come up with.

'Our Designs' Updated

I have updated the 'Our Designs' section of the website and I thought I would share my favourites.

This is an invitation to a rather classy Christmas night out that will be taking place this year, but I think it would be a fabulous design for a winter wedding!

This next design has to be one of my all time favourites. I just love the contrast of the gold on the black and the simplicity of it all. It can easily be adapted to suit, well any purpose really. Anniversary cards, Valentines day or a stunning wedding invitation.

Fathers Day

Well it's too late now to be out buying Fathers' Day cards and presents (well it's not for those of you who don't work at the weekend!) so I thought I'd share the last minute designs of this week for the big day.

For a stepfather who hates the term stepfather... I've used little DoCrafts stamps for this one and coloured them in with trusty colouring pencils. A fan of all things blue it was obvious what the backing colour should be.

For a dad who loves all things shiny and simple... My fingers hurt from this one, I should really invest in a die cutter than doing it the old fashioned way of printing out templates and cutting them out using a craft knife!

Revamp!

After reviewing the website I have completely revamped the pages. It should be much easier to find what you are looking for now and simpler to place an order.

On a wee side note, here's the latest from LTC. The specifications were for an elegant 21st birthday card with no mention of cocktails or other alcohol forms as the lass is pregnant. I really enjoyed making this card.

Robots & Birthdays

I've had this robot paper lying about the house for ages and I did that thing where you tell yourself you'll hold onto it because you will get around to doing something with it. Well I finally got around to using it. I absolutely love the colours and simplicity of it, and I think it matches my nephews bright personality perfectly. I know I'm a bit keen since his birthday isn't until September, but you can never be too prepared!

LTC & Scottish Wedding Planning

We have teamed up with Scottish Wedding Planning to offer helpful tips and guides to brides to be. Kate, as a bride to be in the run up to her own wedding blogs about the important lessons she has learned during the planning process. Particularly helpful for Scottish brides to be, but there is something for everyone, it details more about the legal side (which is surprisingly different to that of the rest of the UK) and what you have to do to get the ball rolling.

This blog is a great start if you are feeling a little daunted by your to do list and all that comes with being a bride (or indeed a groom) to be.

You can find Kate’s blog here. There is also a link to her blog on our Associates & Links page on the main Little Tiger Creations website.

On a more personal note, Kate is a close friend of mine and as someone who has watched her wedding grow from the announcement to the little touches she is so proud of, I cannot be anything other than impressed. I thought I was organised as a bride to be, but Kate puts me to shame. With ten months to go there is not much she has left to do allowing her to relax, deal with any issues that may arise without the added pressure of timescales and deadlines but really just to let her enjoy the excitement that is such a big part of the experience.

Kate has asked Little Tiger Creations to design her table names and her place names. Photo's will be appearing shortly. We have also designed and made little name plaques for her flower girl and page boy, a fantastic way to thank them for their role in her big day.

Little Tiger Creations have agreed an exclusive copyright agreement with David Kane of David Kane Photography which will allow anyone who has a photo shoot with David to use the photographs on our products. Normally photographers charge a 'usage fee' but this has been waived if you decide to use Little Tiger Creations for your products.

We are currently working on a range of packages to run in connection with David's to offer you fantastic items at very reasonable prices.

The latest creation from LTC! The customers Granda is plane mad and his favourite colours are green and burgundy. She wanted something simple that would work with the above specifications.

The Beginning!

The beginning is always a good place to start I suppose. Little Tiger Creations was born after serious pressure from my friends and families to take my arty plutterings a bit more serious. I've made handmade cards for years and whenever someone needs a poster or an invite, they seem to get sent my way. After making all our wedding stationery and having such a phenomenal response I started LTC.

Offering handmade and digitally designed cards allows for maximum personalisation of our items. I love incorporating photo's into everything.
